What do you spread on your toast?
This is info that needs to register in EVERYBODY’s minds!!!
I am convinced that my parents’ generation having such faith in what our government said, the propaganda, is part of the reason that I am battling so many maladies today.  Of course,  I don’t blame my parents. They were doing what they thought best. But now that we know better, we must do better, AND become our own health advocates for ourselves and our families. 

My friend, Betty, recently shared some information which was so very easy to understand I thought it beneficial to also share with you.  You may already know some of this, but refreshers are always good, right? 

“What you don’t know CAN hurt you. Researchers have found that the risk of heart disease associated with margarine is due to the presence of trans fatty acids, also known as trans fats. These substances are formed in the process of solidifying the vegetable oil and have been linked to several health issues. Solid sticks have much higher levels of trans fats than softer spreads. Trans fats have been shown to have an adverse effect on cholesterol levels, a major heart disease indicator, even though margarine does not actually contain cholesterol. The trans fats lower the levels of good HDL cholesterol and raise the amount of harmful LDL cholesterol found in the body.  All this to say….If you MUST, I suggest that you choose olive oil or butter instead.
